Fascist BNP come last in Arun in every single ward they stood in.

Good news from West Sussex UAF

Excellent news in the local elections in Arun: the fascist BNP came last in every single District Council ward they stood in!

Their votes of between 3.3% and 7.7% compare very badly to some of their results there of the last 3-4 years including 24% in 2007 and 20% in 2008.

And the BNP's worst Arun Council result? The 3.3% of John Robinson in Barnham - who was recently elected unopposed to Barnham Parish Council, showing he'd have got nowhere near getting on to that body if anyone had stood against him. A campaign to oust Nazi Robinson from even this modest democratic platform is needed in the coming months.
Closer analysis is needed, but the West Sussex Coast UAF leafletting campaign in Bognor over the past few weeks has surely helped turn out anti-fascist voters and deterred some would-be BNP voters.  A big well done to everyone who joined in with our recent street stalls and ward leafletting.  A huge thanks also to the local CWU, PCS and NUT unions for their generous physical and financial support for the campaign.
The Arun results mirror the BNP's fortunes across the country where they have fared very badly indeed.  Just as with Barking & Dagenham last year, the fascists have been completely wiped out in a former stronghold - Stoke-on-Trent - where now have zero seats.
