Sussex Colombia Solidarity and Women in Politics

Community Event for Women and Children
Brighthelm Centre, North Road, Brighton, BN1 1YD
1:00pm - 5:00pm
Speakers include Sussex Colombia Solidarity and Women in Politics. Performances and activities from Aspel Orchid (Folk Music), Movement Dance workshop, Wild Art exhibition and creativity table, Self - Love workshop and a self defence demonstration. There will be food available, stalls and free creche.

Women & Development sessions + discussion:

  1. Dr Glory Saavedra (Rural Sociologist - Sussex Colombia Solidarity) - Rebels and Heroines - Women of Colombia and work in the 21st century.
  2. Ms Maria Esperanza Sanchez (Journalist) - Women in ALBA countries of Latin America
  3. Ms Hannah Elsisi (Egyptian student activist ) An eye-witness to upheaval in Tahrir.

Celebrate no forest sell-off! Rally and ramble

Meet: Exceat car pa...rk Friston Forest, located off the Litlington Road, near the junction of A259, by the Seven Sisters Country Park Visitor Centre.

Speakers: Forestry Commission trade unionist; Kate Ashbrook (Open Spaces Society); Dave Bangs (Keep Our Forests Public).

The rally will be followed by a picnic together and then a guided forest walk with two stop-and-return points for those who do not want to make the whole ramble. Maximum distance 6 miles. Wear strong walking shoes, bring lunch and refreshments.
